Can Pakistanis Get a Bali Visa on Arrival? Here's the Truth

If you’ve been scrolling travel groups or asking around about a Bali trip, you’ve probably come across conflicting advice — some people swear you can just land in Bali and get a visa on arrival, others say you need to apply weeks in advance. So which is it?

The short answer: Pakistani passport holders cannot get a Bali visa on arrival. Indonesia does not currently have a visa-on-arrival or visa-free arrangement with Pakistan, which means your visa needs to be sorted out before you fly, not at the airport.

This confusion is understandable — Indonesia’s own visa product for arriving travelers is technically called an “e-VOA” (e-Visa on Arrival), and the name alone makes people assume it means “get it when you land.” In reality, for Pakistani citizens, this e-VOA must be applied for and approved online before departure. You still won’t be doing anything at an immigration counter that resembles a walk-up visa-on-arrival process.

So What Visa Do You Actually Need?

For most Pakistani travelers heading to Bali for a holiday, there are two realistic options:

1. C1 Tourist Visa (most common for tour packages)

• Grants a continuous 60-day stay from your arrival date
• Extendable twice, for a maximum total stay of up to 180 days
• No need to visit an immigration office partway through your trip for a short extension, unlike the e-VOA route
• This is the visa type we process for our Bali package travelers

2. e-VOA (B1)

• Valid for a single entry, intended for shorter tourist stays
• Must still be applied for and approved online before you travel — despite the name, there is no counter-based “visa on arrival” for Pakistani passport holders
• Less flexible for longer holidays compared to the C1

For most leisure travelers booking a 5-7 day or longer Bali trip, the C1 Tourist Visa is the simpler, more comfortable option — no mid-trip extension errands eating into your holiday.

Documents You’ll Need

• Passport valid for at least 6 months from your travel date
• A completed visa application
• Passport-size photo (white background, recent)
• Proof of accommodation (hotel booking)
• Proof of sufficient funds (bank statement)
• Return or onward flight ticket

How Long Does It Take?

Processing typically takes 10-12 working days, excluding Indonesian public holidays — so it’s worth starting the process at least 2-3 weeks before your planned departure to avoid any last-minute stress.

Because Pakistan isn’t on Indonesia’s visa-free or visa-on-arrival list, showing up without a pre-approved visa means you risk being denied boarding by your airline or turned away at Indonesian immigration — not a situation anyone wants mid-holiday. Getting this right before you book flights and hotels saves you from costly last-minute changes.
